I am an ex-dancer, and as a dancer I was used to telling my body to do something and it listening. I sat on my butt the majority of my 4 years in college and it turns out 4 years is definitely long enough to lose a lot of that control over my body that I took for granted. So I began my quest to regain that body control, and then some. Fast forward to now, I am a MovNat/Parkour/Krav Maga enthusiast who owes a good chunk of thanks to Brian for helping me regain strength to do what I love.
I met Brian at my MovNat Trainer Certification, and through a few discussions on programming and doing what you love, it became clear that Brian was not just a trainer, but a coach. Unfortunately, I live about 1300 miles away from San Diego, but I knew Brian’s knowledge about not only strength training but also natural movement was something valuable. I approached Brian about online coaching soon after my certification to help me gain strength, particularly upper body strength.
Brian took the time to learn about my goals and what I enjoyed, and then tailored workouts for me that matched both of these. Instead of throwing me through a workout I would hate, he incorporated crawling, jumping and balancing with strength training that pushed me just enough. The workouts were simple yet effective and it didn’t take long for me to start noticing tangible improvements. At the start of training with Brian, my broad jump was around 5 feet, now I am at around 6.5 feet. I was amazed at Brian’s ability to help keep me motivated and not discouraged, get stronger and learn about fitness for myself, all from a distance.
He took time out of his day to check in on how my workouts were going, send short videos demonstrating proper technique for movements I was unfamiliar with, and encourage me. I also found my MovNat and parkour skills improving from the training I received from him. Brian has been an excellent online coach and anyone looking for help for their fitness goals would benefit from working with him.
